MỘT TAY NẢI XANH – KILALA MOTTAINAI DAY: A GREEN WEEKEND INSPIRED BY THE MOTTAINAI SPIRIT

Held over two days on January 24–25, 2026 at Paper & I, the fourth edition of “Một Tay Nải Xanh – Kilala Mottainai Day”, organized by Kilala, welcomed more than 700 visitors who came together to experience practical activities promoting a green and sustainable lifestyle.

“Một Tay Nải Xanh – Kilala Mottainai Day” is Kilala’s annual event series dedicated to spreading the Mottainai spirit—a Japanese philosophy that emphasizes cherishing the value of objects, reducing waste, and living in harmony with the environment.

In its fourth edition, the event was designed around the central theme “Change of Hands – Upcycle – Fixing Mistakes,” highlighting how small, practical actions can contribute to meaningful positive change for the planet.

At the event, visitors were invited to explore 7 Green Stations, each offering a different perspective and hands-on approach to sustainable living and waste reduction:

  • Change of Hands Station: Finding new, caring owners for pre-loved items
  • Upcycling Station: Botanical Printing Workshop
  • Fixing Mistakes Station: Repairing clothes and shoes
  • Green Goods Station: Choose green, live well
  • Smile Station: Freely enjoy traditional Japanese folk games
  • Collection Station: Drop-off point for used batteries, nylon, and old clothes

Tet Craft Station: DIY New Year greeting cards and lucky envelopesAfter two days, “Một Tay Nải Xanh – Kilala Mottainai Day” recorded a number of positive outcomes:

  • Collected 250 kg of used clothing, 15 kg of nylon bags, and 2,500 batteries for proper treatment and recycling.
  • Repaired 80 pairs of shoes and 100 sets of clothing, helping extend their usable life.

All proceeds from the Change of Hands Station, totaling 13,750,000 VND, were officially donated to PanNature on February 3, 2026. The funds will support the project to plant 6,000 native trees and restore 10 hectares of forest in two key regions—the Northwest and the Central Highlands—under the "Rừng Xanh Lên 2026" program.
