Một Tay Nải Xanh - Mottainai Day 2024 - Spreading the spirit of Sustainable Greenness
On December 7-8, 2024, the vibrant event "Một Tay Nải Xanh - Mottainai
Day 2024" took place at 11:11 Espace, attracting nearly 500 participants.
Organized by Kilala, the event celebrated sustainability and green living
through a range of meaningful and creative activities.
This event continues the legacy of its predecessors, "Kilala Mottainai Day 2020" and "Một Tay Nải Xanh - Kilala Mottainai Day 2022", maintaining its mission to promote environmentally friendly practices and sustainable lifestyles. In collaboration with Ikenobo Vietnam Headquarters, Moc Fabric Workshop, and Keo Cun, Kilala presented a rich program of workshops and exhibitions. Key highlights included Ikebana flower arranging and hands-on workshops on crafting bags from scrap fabric.
Under the theme “Change Owner – Upgrade – Correct Mistakes,” the 2024 event
introduced 7 Green Stations, each offering practical, actionable solutions for
living sustainably. By encouraging small yet impactful changes in mindset and
behavior, the event empowered participants to embrace an eco-friendly lifestyle
with ease and creativity.
1. New Home Station: Find new owners for old items
2. Upcycling Station: Upcycle with
fabric scraps in hands-on workshops
3. Repair Station: Repair clothes and shoes
4. Plast-ike Station: Engage in an Ikebana exhibition and workshop
5. Green Goods Station: Explore eco-friendly products from green brands
6. Collection Station: Collect old clothes and nylon bags
7. Game Station: Relax with traditional Japanese folk games
One of the most impactful aspects of the event was the New Home Station,
where preloved items were sold, generating a revenue of 9,730,000 VND. The
entire proceeds were donated to Saigon Xanh, a volunteer group dedicated to
cleaning and treating waste in Saigon's rivers, supporting their mission to
protect the environment.
