Kilala Communication celebrates a memorable 10-year journey as a bridge for cultural and business exchange between Vietnam and Japan, continuously bringing Japanese values closer to Vietnamese audiences.
Kilala Communication Co., Ltd. was officially established on August 27, 2013. However, before expanding into the media field, we had already spent a decade operating in Vietnam, producing PR materials for Japanese companies, including print design and website design.
Witnessing the wave of economic integration and the growing interest among Vietnamese people in Japan, we began to develop the idea of creating a publication dedicated to sharing engaging content about Japan for Vietnamese readers. At the same time, we hoped it could serve as a bridge to support Japanese businesses in approaching the Vietnamese market.
After extensive preparation, on October 28, 2013, Kilala Magazine - Vietnam’s first publication dedicated to introducing Japanese culture and lifestyle - was officially launched nationwide. This marked the beginning of Kilala’s 10-year journey of bringing Japan closer to Vietnamese people.
Kilala Magazine underwent several improvements in both design and content from Vol. 1 to Vol. 45.
In addition to the 45 issues of Kilala Magazine that have been published, and thanks to the warm support of our readers, we also developed a website version at kilala.vn. At the same time, we expanded our activities to popular social media platforms in Vietnam, including Facebook, YouTube, Instagram, and TikTok, in order to deliver information more quickly and diversely, while strengthening our connection with a broader community of readers and viewers.
Through our media platforms, Kilala delivers Japan-related content to more than 20 million users every month.Looking back on the past 10 years, we are also deeply proud to have worked with many partners to organize Japanese-style commercial and tourism events. These events created opportunities for Vietnamese consumers to directly experience high-quality products and services from Japan, while also connecting Japanese businesses and local governments with consumers.
Notable initiatives include the five editions of Feel Japan, held in Ho Chi Minh City since 2015, and Kilala Awards, an award honoring high-quality products and services from Japan, which took place in 2018 and 2019.
Kilala Awards honors quality Japanese products selected by consumers themselves. As a media organization specializing in Japan, Kilala has also been honored to partner with many local governments across Japan over the years. We have supported these regions in introducing their unique travel routes and destinations, inspiring Vietnamese audiences to explore Japan.
Kilala handled public relations and communications for the Vietnam version of the reality TV program “Run! Gulliver-kun” co-produced by Kansai TV in Japan and Voice of Vietnam (VOV). In the field of commerce, with our understanding and experience of the Vietnamese market, we are honored to have been trusted by many Japanese corporate partners to support communications and promotional activities for their products and services to consumers.
